The problem of meeting the world's energy needs while limiting dangerous atmospheric CO₂ concentrations is neither easily solved nor insurmountable. As you've seen in this lab, no energy source is a magic bullet. And energy efficiency is also key because energy that isn't expended is the cleanest energy of all. There may also be technologies on the horizon that will help with some of our fuel sources. If you would like to learn more about energy use and supply, be sure to read Unit 10, "Energy Challenges." Consider the following:

1. What kinds of energy–conscious materials are already available, and which might you use in your home?
2. Based on your experience with the simulator and what you read/hear in the news, what are some immediate energy issues, and how might these issues be solved?
