Lake Ripley, near Cambridge, Wisconsin

"The Ice is Out - Finally"

"There’s a day every spring when I go to work in the morning and there is still ice on the lake. When I come home at night, it is gone, and the ripples of the lake are washing the shore.

This year was late, as expected. Heck, it just snowed the 14th of April. But now the ice is gone, not to come back until winter.
