I first noticed a single male Red Winged Blackbird at one of my feeders on Jan. 31, 2013, with 7 more joining within minutes. Since then, all 8 will perch in the trees waiting for the smaller birds to vacate their favorite hopper-style feeder. The seed offered is a general, wild bird seed mixed 50/50 with black oil sunflower seeds. No females sighted as of 2/17/13.
