What
has been your biggest surprise about teaching?
My biggest surprise
has been how much I learn from the children and from the community.
The more I bring in the community and the parents, the more I learn.
Everybody's home is different, and from every home I learn something
new about myself, the children, and how to communicate with people.
What's
your biggest challenge?
Trying to integrate
everything into the curriculum -- math, science, reading -- in my pre-school
through kindergarten special-needs class. Trying to incorporate many
different ideas and carry through with them as long as the children
can hold onto the activity. Trying to figure out how to do an activity
that four different children at four different levels are going to be
able to enjoy.
