More Ideas for Bean Experiments

Need some ideas for your bean experiment? Try some of the suggestions listed below.

Do different mediums affect seed sprouting? Try sprouting seeds in different mediums such as gelatin, pudding, or a cornstarch and water mixture. Compare these beans to beans sprouting in water.

Does gravity affect seed sprouting? Instead of laying all your bean baggies flat, hang one vertically. Every few days flip it so the baggie's top becomes the bottom and its bottom becomes the top. Compare these beans to beans in a baggie hung vertically without being flipped.

Does motion affect seed sprouting? Place a bean baggie on a turn-table set to low speed. Allow it to turn for several days. Compare these beans to beans that have not been moved.

Does pressure affect seed sprouting? Stack several books on top of a bean baggie to find out. Compare these beans to beans without anything stacked on top.

Does noise affect seed sprouting? Place a bean baggie next to a radio set to low volume. Leave it next to the radio for several days. Compare these beans to beans left in a quiet place.
