appearance half of soaked bean with embryo was planted in soil Sprout is green with small leaves. Root is seen arcing into soil form a fixed position.

appearance Half of soaked bean with embryo was planted in soil. When this bean was dug up it was covered in mold. The mold therefore has killed the half of bean with embryo before germination could be completed.
