Re: [Teacher-TalkNovel] In Search of Novel Course

Hi Christina,
Are you running the video over dial-up or broadband? If it's dial-up, that might be the reason for it freezing up. I sometimes get that w/high speed, but it never seems to affect the sound. The picture eventually catches up with the sound and isn't that distracting.
I have been watching one video each week. We're supposed to do a 2 page write up each week. The teacher asked us to submit them at the end of the course. I try to draw something each week from the videos and try it out in my class. Some of it has worked well. We were also asked to post comments and ask for help via the discussion list. If you reply to an e-mail, it sends out an e-mail to each individual in the class and posts it to the list.
Hope that helps...I noticed that you were at you know Marie Poo by any chance? She works there in ESE. I know her mom.
Good Luck,

Subject: Re: [Teacher-TalkNovel] In Search of Novel Course

I just joined the course and I'm still quite lost, even though I have the syllabus. I'm understanding something about videos, journals, and lesson plans. But I'm unclear on the specifics. Also, I tried the first video and it kept freezing up so I couldn't really watch it. So basically, I'm begging for help. This is the first time I have ever taken an online course and I'm a first year teacher. A mentor would be quite appreciated!
Thanks so much!
