Hi, Cristina:
I know how you feel....I've been sorting through the material for a couple of days. I downloaded everything and put it in a binder.......
Did you download all the Workshop syllabus material?????
Have you read the part in Mary Kemp's memo about the FINAL PRODUCT???
Complete journal notes from the workshops (that is the confusing part when it speaks as though you are going to a workshop or sitting in a group with colleagues which most of us aren't)......
So when you watch the video, you discuss it with someone near you that is also working on the course, or in an email to someone, on channeltalk. Save your emails.
You will need to submit everything at the end of the course. The journal notes from all the video discussions with someone .
Then complete TWO of the journal reflections (the notes about the discussions) into One lesson plan based on the content of the course videos or discussions that you can actually use in the classroom.
You will submit all the journal entries for each week (workshop) and the the two journal reflections used with the lesson plan. You are going to send all of this at the end together by May 18th to Mary Kep either through email or school mail.
This is my understanding.

Subject: Re: [Teacher-TalkNovel] In Search of Novel Course

I just joined the course and I'm still quite lost, even though I have the syllabus. I'm understanding something about videos, journals, and lesson plans. But I'm unclear on the specifics. Also, I tried the first video and it kept freezing up so I couldn't really watch it. So basically, I'm begging for help. This is the first time I have ever taken an online course and I'm a first year teacher. A mentor would be quite appreciated!
Thanks so much!
