For those of you who are teaching the Diary, I highly recommend a book by Scott Christian called _Exchanging Lives: Middle School Writers Online_
(NCTE, 1997) that details his and other middle school teachers' efforts to conduct "The Anne Frank Conference," an online correspondence about the diary
among middle school students at various schools throughout the U.S. The book is wonderfully inspiring and proposes accessible ways to use technology as
a tool for connecting student writers with real audiences. It's a must-read!
