    Hi all!

I am teaching a required text (The Pearl by Steinbeck) for the =
first time and am seeking some advice from experienced educators. I =
teach seventh grade in a suburban middle class community. I predict =
that my students will have a difficult time identifying with the culture =
and characters. I am hoping to create activites which help students to =
identify and understand the culture and the main characters. Does any =
one have any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate any input.

    Thanks, rames@mediaone.net
