"The best-selling 'Harry Potter' series of children's books by J.K. Rowling tops the list of the ten books most challenged in 1999, according to the American Library Association's (ALA) Office of Intellectual Freedom (OIF)." from Library Journal, March 1, 2000, page 19.
The complaints, numbering 472, focused on the wizardry and magic in the books. The other nine titles were also listed.
