Next message: Edee Wiziecki: "RE: [Teacher-talkinquiry] Extending Kits To Do Inquiry"
I agree with GeeGee about the prescribed time span we are given and the vast
amount of topics we are to cover. My problem is how do I get it all done
by the end of the year? I think the child- centered investigation is the
best of all choices, but we are pushed so much to accomplish the given
curriculum. There sometimes isn't enough time to spend inquiring about one
topic without the worry of "time". I find myself squeezing the last part of
the unit in and not being as thorough as I should. It's all a matter of
adopted curriculum.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts.

Inquiry
Thanks, Scott. This is a concern of mine given the "required" units
we are
expected to "cover" here in our district. I'm hoping this will
work, but as
our units are very large...lots of "hit a lick" type coverage... I
still
wonder how it will work with inquiry method and still be able to get
through
what I am expected to do in the year's time.
