[Channel-talkhswriters] Workshop 3 Video discussion

Without audience, I have no real desire to write. Many writers keep journals. I never have. To write for nobody but myself does not appeal to me in any way whatsoever. I want my writing to go beyond me...to inspire, to teach, to encourage. I suppose this is connected somehow to my spiritual gifts of teaching and encouragement (as determined through a "spiritual gifts inventory" administered by my church).

I don’t like to think that I am writing in a vacuum. Writing is a community thing for me. I understand that many writers/authors keep journals and find that type of writing therapeutic, clarifying, some like it for the discipline. Not me. Don’t make me write without audience.
