American History Economic Forces : Academic, classroom type environment with other teachers. You get to participate in simulations, but it is with other adults. Great info and activities.
Eonomics for Leaders: Students AND adults... You sit in class with the kids the first half of the day and you ALL learn/participate in simulations together. In the afternoon, you get to sit down with the Professors and the other teachers and discuss what you did in the morning and learn other new things. I use the things I learned here DAILY in my econ classes.
If I had to choose only one, I would do the Econ for Leaders, for sure.

Thanks for sharing, I have only completed the online course Economics for Teacher 1 and I truly enjoyed it. It seems lately every time the opportunity arises for the Summer Sessions work has an agenda around the time and location I'd prefer.
However since our school is closing this year and provided a new employer doesn't call for the summer I am very interested in attending one of 2 workshops: American History Economic Forces and/or Eonomics for Leaders workshop, I know I can do one, but not two.
Currently working w/Middle School, but am in pursuit of returning to teaching HIgh School. Any recommendations regarding the courses will surely be of help.

I second the recommendation of FTE workshops (fte.org) I have done the Economics for Leaders, Economic Forces in US History, along with various local workshops, and they are ALL outstanding! They provide simulations and teaching tactics using an "economic thinking" point of view that my students understand and are motivated to get involved with.

It may be a bit advanced in some areas, but I have found that the Classroom Experinomics website (www.marietta.edu/~delemeeg/expernom.html) to have some great things to do. I use the dollar-bill game early on in the year and my kids love it.
Plus, the Foundation for Teaching Economics has some great stuff, particularly their simulations from the Economics for Leaders workshop. If anyone can attend their workshops, I really recommend them highly.
