[Channel-talklitconversations] Workshop 3 Getting Started Discussion

Photo Response Activity. I've chosen photo two. Something about this photo gives me the creeps. I don't know exactly why because it looks like it could be my grandfather on his farm walking by straw/hay covered by a tarp/canvas to keep the rain off. However, it also kind of looks like some "agent" next to some unidentified something (alien?).
The "thing" the man is next to is so huge. Is it a parachute? Did somebody just land in his field? Is he trying to figure it out too? Or perhaps it is someone in his "unit." He is assessing the situation--a failed mission? An abhort of a mission or landing?
Maybe he owns a sky diving company and he has located the landing sight of his jumpers and is there to pick them up.
In making sense of this photo, all I can do is go with what I'm given and use where I've been and what I've experienced and learned to make sense of it. I'm clearly lacking, in this instance, enough "data" or something to make definitive conclusions about the picture. I need more. If this photo were a novel, I'd have to keep reading!
