Hi Christina,
Regarding bonding, I have an activity called "Bond with a Classmate", I made ions of different charges, laminated with yarn, and students wear them around their necks and pair up with other "ion" classmates and fill out a sheet with the compound, names, etc... It seems to work well, gets students up and moving around, and reinforcing concepts about zeroing out the charge etc.
