[Channel-talkchemistry] regarding Kristen's comments
I am always looking for chemistry resources. I would appreciate any help you
can give me. Post as much as you have time for. Thanks!!
Regarding cooperative learning, I give students new groups to work in every
time we do an activity. I find that students feel this is a fair way of making
groups and by the middle of the year, each student has worked with every other
student in the class. To do this, I put each student's name on a popsicle
stick and keep them in a cup at my desk. When it's time to go to lab or break
into groups for review or activities, I quickly draw sticks from the cup to
create groups. I honestly see a difference in the classroom atmosphere because
all the kids get comfortable with one another. It creates a real open,
tight-knit group of kids, almost like a family.
