Musical Selections

From this page you can download musical selections that figure powerfully in Lisa Jura’s story. Played by Lisa’s daughter Mona Golabek, and provided by the Milken Family Foundation, these performances can be listened to on their own and are also part of the lessons in the curriculum guide for The Children of Willesden Lane.

To play a selection: Click on either “Sample” (for a 30-second clip from the selection) or "Full" (to play the entire selection). Help for downloading the audio files is at the bottom of this page.

Selections 1–11

In these selections, Mona Golabek places each musical piece in the context of her mother ’s story. She reads a portion of the book and plays a short excerpt from each piece. Selection 10 features a recording Lisa Jura made in 1944.
