Developments in the Hinterlands, helps us understand
why places and regions serve as a symbol of national
and regional identity. The region's once thriving center
of commerce in an age gone by is exemplified by Andalucia's
flamboyant and historically significant architecture.
Iceland:
Edge of the Habitable World provides an excellent
example of the importance of ecosystems when considering
human/environment interaction. The case study also discusses
how such knowledge can help people develop strategies
to respond to a diminishing resource.
