Ecuador:
Orange Alert examines the unique region of the Andes
mountain range. The strategies that people have developed
to deal with natural hazards provide an example of the
constraints the physical environment places on human
populations. In the second case study, Chile: Pacific
Rim Player, the country's unique physiographic variation
lays the foundation for a rich agricultural and resource-based
economy. These geographic advantages have aided Chile
in becoming an important part of today's global economy.
