The National Geography Standards

Standard 10: The characteristics, distribution, and complexity of Earth's cultural mosaics.

Standard 13: How the forces of cooperation and conflict among people influence the division and control of Earth's surface.

Standard 15: How physical systems affect human systems.

Standard 16: The changes that occur in the meaning, use, distribution, and importance of resources.

Kenya: Medical Geography introduces the field of medical geography and the importance of understanding the relationship between environmental conditions and the spatial distribution of infectious diseases. South Africa: This Land is My Land, portrays South Africa's complex cultural mosaic. It also shows the forces of cooperation and conflict at work in South Africa as the country struggles to address the wrongs of apartheid.
