LAST VISIT--FEBRUARY 22, 1996
by Brock Clouse, KaLynne Bennett, and Grant Schutz

On February 22, the third and fourth graders went to see the eagles at Johnson Lake. It was very cold that day, but we survived. The temperature was about twenty degrees Fahrenheit. It was very foggy and windy so that made it even colder.

Mrs. Blessing drove the bus to the swimming area at Johnson Lake to wait for Mr. Peyton who was supposed to meet us there. While we were waiting, we saw one eagle sitting on the ice. Right before Mr. Peyton drove up, the eagle flew right over us with a fish.

We followed Mr. Peyton to the Johnson Lake inlet. We had to drive over the dam and we saw some eagles fishing and flying. When we got to the inlet, we all got out of the bus. We only saw about five or six eagles. Some of the eagles were flying. Some were in the trees, and others were on the ice. We took pictures of our groups with the Quik-Take camera that puts the pictures on the computer and over the Internet.
