FIRST VISIT TO J-2 POWER PLANT--December 21, 1995
Justin Bullis, Joe Pickinpaugh, Chelsey Bellamy, and Morgan Baldonado

We went to the J2 power plant . It was a very cloudy day. We saw nine eagles. First MARK PEYTON talked about what the eagles do and eat. They flew high and even higher. Some caught fish, and others swooped down to the water. The water was fourteen feet deep. When you're on Interstate I-80, you can take highway 283 or highway 23 to get to get the J2 power plant. We saw one young eagle. Inside the J2 power plant it looked like a big engine. The fish go through the turbines at the power plant and are killed or stunned so they are easy for the eagles to catch. Brandon said the J2 canal was like a McDonald's (fast food) for the eagles. The two best places to go see eagles in Nebraska are at Ogallala and the J2 power plant.
