Tulip Garden 2008-2009

Today, we came back from Spring Break. We noticed almost all of our tulips had bloomed. Derek said he observed them for the first time yesterday. We were surprised that they were not taller. Savannah noticed a relationship between the tulips closest to the trees and the progress of the bloom.They are beautiful and make our school sign more noticeable.
The tulips closest to the trees seemed to have more bloom at this time, even though they were among the last to emerge. We had to go out in the rain to see them. But sometimes, science is uncomfortable!
My 2 Science classes have been participating in the Journey North Tulip Garden this year. The kids made Ohio Buckeye necklaces and sold them this fall to fund the purchase of 200 tulips. We have enjoyed the study, and as you can see, it was very successful. - Jill Jensen
