Tulip Garden Growth Chart
On this chart, or in your journal, list the events you will monitor as your plants grow this spring. For example:
- The date your first tulips EMERGE
- The date your leaves are 10 centimeters tall
- The date you observe the first sign of RED ON THE BUD
- The date you observe your first flower BLOOMING (This is the first time the flower opens enough that you can see the stamens and pistils inside.)
- The date all petals fall off
Record
the date each event occurs. (If you are calculating Growing
Degree Days in your garden, also record the GDD value for each
date.) If you are working with a partner garden, exchange charts
periodically this spring.
