  •  We are mailing the six pieces as instructed: 1) Checklist, 2) Symbolic Monarchs, 3) Cluster Packet, 4) Monarch Booklet, 5) Spring Return Envelope, 6) Fall Mailing envelope.

  • I will REPORT when I mail my butterflies so my school will appear on the map >>
  • I pledge to REPORT butterflies we receive in spring so they will appear on the map >>
  • Our Butterflies are made exactly as directed:
    • Are smaller than 1/2 piece of paper (5 1/2" x 8") (See template >>)
    • Are made entirely from paper. (Please use recycled paper!)
    • Are flat and have no 3D decorations or glitter.
    • Include student's first name and the school's name & full address, clearly typed on each butterfly. (If using an address stamp--make sure your entire address is legible!)
    • Are ambassadors, and carry messages of support and gratitude to Mexican students, clearly typed. (See sample Spanish Phrases >>)
  • Our Fall Mailing Envelope is exactly as follows (see example >>):
    • Is Postmarked by October 14, 2008.
    • Shows the exact number of butterflies enclosed, written on the front.
    • Includes a decorated Cluster Packet: >>
      • Containing your butterflies (From 1 up to 30 per envelope.)
      • Containing a Monarch Booklet for student who will receive our packet
      • A Cluster Passport Label (tri-lingual) is attached to the Cluster Packet >>
    • Large enough to hold the Cluster Packet, and Spring return envelope.
    • Includes a self-addressed return envelope for spring. (See below.)
    • Is addressed to: "Send a Monarch 2008" c/o Journey North, 19130 Highland Ave., Wayzata, MN 55391 USA (Fall 2008 address only!)

  • Our Spring Return Envelope is as follows (see example >>):
    • Has exactly $2.00 US postage (stamps only) affixed for the return trip from MN.
    • Canadian Mail: Choices are: $2.25 Canadian postage, $2.25 US postage, or 3 International Reply Coupons (IRC)
    • We DID NOT use a postage meter, or a PRIORITY MAIL envelope, and no tape is covering the stamps.
    • Is self-addressed with teacher's name and school's full address.
    • Has Journey North's return address in the upper left hand corner of the envelope.
    • Shows the exact number of butterflies we sent, written on the front.
    • Is BIG (at least 10" x 13"). (The contents of the spring envelope will be bigger and heavier. We don't want to wrinkle and fold your butterflies!)

  • Our Support for Monarch Conservation in Mexico is enclosed.
    • An optional donation for the Monarch Butterfly's winter home is enclosed.
    • Our check is payable to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Foundation >>
    • Our own name and school are written on the check (so we can be recognized).
    • The outside of our fall shipping envelope proudly proclaims: "We're Helping Monarchs!"
