Report Migrating Earthworms

Even though they only travel a few feet, earthworms undergo a "vertical" migration each spring after the ground thaws. The appearance of the first earthworms is a welcome sign of spring. It is often closely tied to the arrival of the first robins.

1. Read the description of earthworm migration as quoted from Edwin Way Teale's NORTH WITH THE SPRING.

2. Keep your eyes open for migrating worms!

3. While you wait, learn more about worms. See these related links. >>

3. When you see your FIRST earthworms of the season, please report to Journey North.
