Inside a Robin's Nest
Day 11

  • The babies fill up the nest now! They are big enough to keep each other warm, so mom sleeps on a nearby branch.

  • Their eyes are open wide. Why are eyes so important to robins? Think about this as you watch them outdoors.

  • Their beaks are longer, too. When mom or dad comes back with food, the beaks will also open wide. These babies eat all day long!

  • Did you see the small hole near the beak? It works like our nose, but birds can't smell much!
