Inside a Robin's Nest

  • Did you notice the cup-shaped nest? The robin made it from twigs, grass, and mud. Why do you think she used these to build a nest?

  • The mother robin is snuggled in the nest. Did you guess that she was sitting on some eggs?

  • She made the nest 10 feet up in the tree. Why do you think she put it there? (Hint: Foxes, owls, and cats prey on baby robins.) How else can the tree protect the nest?
