Babies
in the Bush!
| |
 |
 |
Can
you tell that they're hiding in the grass and weeds? There are dangers
on the ground, too!
- The
babies are clumsy because they don't have their full wing feathers
and long tail feathers.
- Without
those feathers and strong muscles, they can't defend themselves
from hawks, foxes, cats, and other predators.
- They
"know," by instinct to hide from danger and keep quiet.
(That is, until they're hungry!)
- How
do you think their bodies help them blend in and hide? (Example:
Look at the chest speckles on the bird in the middle.)
