Try This! Go outside on a sunny day and look at shadows (a tree, pole, classmate, and so on). What do you notice? Do you see any patterns in the direction or lengths of shadows (compared to the objects)?

Next, find a fixed object like a pole. Mark the end of its shadow with stones or chalk. An hour later, mark the end again. Do this for several hours.
