Rachel and Carl volunteer at the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory in Ontario, Canada. They are two of only 200 people in all of North America who are allowed to band hummingbirds. They live in an important area for migrating birds. Why? During fall migration, thousands of birds squeeze between the Great Lakes on their way south. But one bird made history . . .

The arrows show how birds move from other parts of Canada
and "funnel" through the area where Carl and Rachel do banding. (Web site >)
