She landed near the Gulf Coast. "Sweet Pea started out sampling every food source in my yard," says Joan. "Soon she relied on one feeder to fuel up. She also enjoyed a bath in the sprinkler." Joan contacted local bander, Nancy Newfield. She bands hummingbirds in the hope that researchers can learn more about them and their amazing migrations.

Sweet Pea, like other hummers, is drawn to running water!
