A Rufous Hummingbird Gone Astray? Making Sense of Unsual Sightings In late January 2007, two Journey North observers reported something unusual. Here's what one said: "I have a female rufous hummingbird hanging around my backyard in Northport, New York. (A tough little survivor, she has been here since November.)
