Setting the Traps Nancy Newfield does some of her banding in the yards of people who have hummingbird gardens and lots of hummingbird feeders. These pictures are from John Owen's yard. He helps Nancy with her banding. The trap she uses for catching hummingbirds for banding is a big bird cage with a large door and a hummingbird feeder on the inside. The door is operated by a remote control. Setting the Trap John Owen's yard has the kinds of plants that attract and provide quality food for hummingbirds. John Owen sets up the trap.
