Welcome, cranes! Costumed handlers (A) wait for the new arrivals (B) to land. They will lead the birds to their small pen (C) with the top net. After health checks and banding, the cranes will be closely watched for a few days to be sure they didn't get overstressed. The birds can come and go from the big pen. They will learn to be wild, free cranes in this good winter habitat.
