Watching Walking Whoopers The whooping crane scientists: Observed the natural world and asked questions. Thought about what they already knew. Came up with a guess or theory about what they observed. Set up an investigation to test their theory. Carefully gathered data. Looked for patterns in data. Used the data and what they already knew to draw conclusions that explain what they'd observed.
