John Cooper John Cooper is a retired Delta Airlines pilot with a military background. John was a navy pilot flying F-16s from aircraft carriers. He is from Marietta, Georgia. Along with Jack Wrighter, John will be doing top cover duty for the first half of the migration. His flight team mate Jack Wrighter says it is always interesting to listen to John when returning to base after a migration leg: "John always had amusing comments such as, 'If you lost your engine here, you could land in that little field over there.
