Back to Crane #9-13's Bio Page

On July 24, Brooke holds one of the young cranes. Eva, Tracking Field Manager and bander, puts a small, permanent aluminum Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) band on its leg. Veterinarians Barry and Naomi draw a blood sample and give vaccinations. Richard waits behind, holding the next bird in line. The entire process lasted under 15 minutes. Everybody was glad when the last crane was safely returned to the pen.

Each crane got a vaccination and a metal FWS legband in early August.
