There is a small forest preserve called Cricket Creek near our suburban home. We spent the afternoon cross country skiing before the last of the snow was gone. In the reeds was a Red Winged Blackbird, calling for a mate. Snow and ice still around, but this one has arrived. Spring is on the way.
