| We had several inches of snow overnight and I awoke to a flock of red-winged blackbirds in the tree near our feeder. I cleared the deck railing and spread bird seed mix there to give them more room to eat. They were just beautiful! And fascinating. They're rather skittish, coming down from the tree together to feed a minute or two and then returning to the tree with a rush of wings. At first I wondered about the large sparrow-looking birds among them, but learned those are the "ladies"! They stayed all day - I replenshed the food around noon - and were gone this morning. Absolutely wonderful! | |||
