I have 30 to 40 American Goldfinch and at least 10 Pine Siskins in mid January. In years past they arrived in December but this year were later. I thought I saw a couple in early January but we had lots of seeds in fields. They are eating black oil sunflower seeds. I put out Niger seed but they were not eating it.
