Hungry Robins Covered the Ground in Tennessee

"There are thousands of robins in huge flocks on the ground. I have never seen so many in all my life. There are starlings mixed in with the robins in the large grassy fields at the entrance to the subdivision. They were observed between 4:30 and 4:45p.m." What do you think they are doing?
