Dear Friends,
Our class received 5 Symbolic Butterflies that were cared for this winter by a
Mexican student from the Samuel Delgado"I" Moya school. The student's name is
Xoohitl(?) Daniela Garcia Espino. We also received a tagged Monarch from the
Monarch's Migration Pathway made by Albesa Anani(?) The enclosed slip said that
this was associated with the Aztec Children's garden. They spent the winter in
Mexico clustered with butterflies from 4 other states and one from Canada.
Here are the schools where the butterflies we received came from:
Delano Elementary School in Delano, MN
Mary Schroggs Elementary School in Chapel Hill, NC
Trico Elementary School in Campbell Hill, IL
AE Butler Intermediate School in Quinlan, TX
Central Public School in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
We also heard from another Mexican student earlier in the year who wanted to be
our pen pal. His name was Jose Manuel Garcia Martinez.
And we received word today via a letter that one of our Monarch's landed in
Kokomo IN at Central Middle School. We will be writing to all of the schools
listed. Thank you for participation. We look forward to continuing the circle
of friendship.
We have enjoyed this part of Journey North and look forward to hearing from
you. Our email address at Beal City School is - kjolhede@edzone.net
Sincerely,
