For the 4th year in a row, students in Ismayilli, Azerbaijan, have planted a tulip garden to participate in the Journey North Tulip Garden study. Their school is located in the Northern Hemisphere, but it is east of the prime meridian. Its global address is (40.43, 48.34).
The common Red Emperor tulip is difficult or impossible to purchase in Azerbaijan. Fortunately, the class was able to purchase their tulip bulbs when their teacher, Ulviyye Tahirova, took a recent trip to London. The older students helped the younger students with planting on November 29.
