the whale's mouth? Baleen
Do
you see curtains of fliber, like a broom, instead of teeth? This is baleen.
Baleen acts
as a filter. When the whale's mouth
is
full of water and food, it
shuts its mouth and forces the water out. The small animals of the whale's
food get trapped in the baleen. The food staysin the whale's mouth.
Then the whale swallows it!
