Smallest Breeding Bird
The calliope hummingbird, a relative of the rufous, is the smallest breeding bird found in Canada and the United States. In spring and summer it inhabits mountainous areas of northwestern United States and Canada. Janet captured this little bird at her home in Fernie, British Columbia. "Just got home from work and saw a male calliope on feeder."
