Hidden Nests
Hummingbird nests are hard to find unless you see the female flying back and forth in the spring. After all, they are barely as big as quarters! The nest is usually 10 to 40 feet above the ground in a tree or large shrub. The female chooses a nesting spot where the branches form a fork and where the leafy branches above will shelter her young.
