The differnce in total population could have somthing to do with their mating
season. I think between Janurary 6th through Februray 19th may be their
mating season. During the month of Janurary, the population of the manatee
had decreased since the end of the previous mating season. Then in February,
the total population increased by about 175 more manatees. Also, this could
be because of lack of vegetation during winter months which results in the
death of manatees.
