  • Introducing Mystery Class #8

    Dear Mystery Class Contestants:

We are Ms. Nunn's class from Secunda, South Africa, and we really enjoyed serving as Mystery Class #8 in this year's contest. We hope you enjoyed the contest as much as we did participating in it! To help describe our country a little more, we wanted to share this additional information with you.

As we mentioned in the clues, South Africa has many cultures, and there are 11 official languages in our country. The three most commonly spoken languages are Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans. The main religion in our country is Christian, but Muslim is also a major religion here too.

Like students in many places, many of us have pets including cats, dogs and goldfish, and sometimes horses too.

Some of the foods we like are "biltong" ( a type of meat), "Pap" (maize meal) and even hamburgers and chips too.

For any of you who are still having winter, you might like it here--we've only had snow two times in the last 35 years!

    Best regards,
    Ms. Nunn's Class
    Secunda, South Africa
